Thanks chaps !! will drink both of these on Christmas morning now.

I have some Moutard 03 in the cellar as we both really enjoyed thier NV on a number of occasions.

Will the 03 be to young to drink though ?? I need a couple of bottles for New Years Eve.

Yes, with more time this moring, I pulled out an NV Moet Imp Brut. There is no harvest or vintage year stated as you would expect. Therefore any discussion, or speculation of this wine's medium term keeping abilities is idle banter. Purchase date is pretty meaningless, other than a guide, the assembly may have been in the most recent 2-3 years, and that based on release date.

You may write the bought date on the back label and find out when it falls over - 'spose.

One of my disgusting habits to find out, is to knock off the left-overs when folks have gone - the washing up perks ! If the flat dregs are pretty naff, then I know a little bit more.

I have just collected two 1992 two 1998 and one 2003.

These are all vintage releases not NV.

He said the 92 is still drinking well but the 98 is amazing.

I think I am reading to many posts and gathering info from to many people.

I do need though two/three bottles for New Years Eve would like 96 but depends on budget.
I am in France from tomorrow and plan on visiting a couple of merchants whilst over so might pickup something interesting on the fizz front.

Happy with the 03 at £10.00 as well !!

Yeah, I would be too - nice at the price.

2003 was super ripe, If no skinned pinot noir in there, I'd drink over next 2 years. Thinking, hmnnn, very ripe, possibly good if or when you want a food friendly fiz.

A candidate for Thai night, if not actually Brut in flavour.
