Much better than the last few vintages. Well chilled this is light/medium bodied ( no hint of oak ). Flavours of blackcurrant leaf and tropical fruit. Quite intense.

No harshness and not at all tart.

Well done Ben Glover !

The Reach 2008 at Tesco is down to £5.69. It was a bit coarse and hard work when it was released but has mellowed into the same wine as the 2007 now.

Sainsbury have replaced Jackson Estate with Sacred Hill.

Bastards !

Right on Goose, you tell them B**stards.

Goose if you award the Reach 2008 (now settled down) a proper..... :qofgoodvalue: I will cancel the Crossings 2007 and pick up an order - Tesco have given me two 10 quid check-out codes recently.

They must be desperate

Dunc, i've had two bottles this last week and both were identical to the 2007. I've bought two cases at £5.69. I think there may be an extra 5% off per case if you buy online and I think it's delivery free at the moment.

I prefer this to The Crossings.

The Crossings is nice though.

Will get back to you on the Laroche Premier Cru

Goose, thanks for the info. If truely settled down as a 2007 twin, then I'd better stock up - cheers.

Free delivery finished last Sunday - but no matter.

Just had a big glass of the WH 2008 with lunch* and it's drinking beautifully. On offer at Waitrose I believe for just under £6. It's been on offer a while so be quick if you want it.

Blackcurrant and grapefruit with a lovely long aftertaste of capsicum ( if not served too cold )

No sign at all of the 10% oak...most unusual for WH to be so restrained and ethereal.

I might order a couple of cases as it's about to be replaced by the (hopefully even better) 2009.

Classic and gorgeous.
