Widely available, £5~£6

Soft, creamy nose with a hint of old wardrobe. Initial burst of jammy fruit, plum and cinnamon, under-ripe cherry, and then very little else, an almost immediate finish. A hit & run wine, briefly satisfying but not up to earlier vintages, notably the '06.

I have a pair of samples in my hall. Should I take it to a bonfire party?

Sounds about right, you wont have any complaints.

The '06 won an International Trophy at the Decanter WWA's, this is when I first tried it and thought it was one of the best sub £5 wines on the high street. Considering the production techniques for mass produced New World wine, you'd think it would be easy to stick to a winning formula, with vintage making little difference, but this is clearly a step backwards IMO.

...and don't forget to take the old wardrobe to the bonfire.
