Was hoping to have found a decent chard at a very reasonable price

Instead what I got was fire water ! Why oh why make this 14.5% ?! - I had to dilute it with water to stop the burning sensation !

Totally agree Shez, what is the point of 14%+ whites? There's nowt refreshing about that. I guess it would need food to calm it.

What about Condrieu? I have been disappointed nearly every time I've had Condrieu, because it's almost always 14%+. Too burny.

Tried again last night. Heat was still there - even when eating with onion bhajis.
Looked at 2008 in Maj yesterday and its 14% so maybe a litle cooler.
Have 1 bottle left that I may try to take back and swap for something else

3 days in and finally the alcohol heat has subsided.

Now we have a fairly sweet and fruity tropical flavoured chardonnay: Banana & pineapple
OK but won't rush out to buy it again
