I only had one of these, and I think it was (again) too cold. Something trying to get out, but pleasant enough as it was. Anyone had the '09 yet?

Is the 09 available yet ?
Have only seen Villa Maria release an 09 vintage so far.

Goose says that WH 09 is meant to be outstanding

showeeenuff Shez, 'tis '09. My fridge needs replacing and although this was (I now believe) way too cold it felt "good". Hidden depths, G may well be right (for a change)

Morning chaps from a wet and windy Wales.

I'm sure I said The Ned at Waitrose was the expected star of 2009. The Ned is made by Brent Marris who used to be in charge at Wither Hills when WH made superb wine.

Their sb is still quite nice but it's much more commercial these days.

I remember a wine merchant in the Vale of Glamorgan selling the outstanding 2002 vintage for £10. When the vintage changed and Lion Nathan brought out their first WH under their ownership the wine was just ok. The merchant in the Vale realising that the world had seen the last of a great wine put the price of his last few bottles of the 02 up to £19.95. They sold out in days.

I bought two. Twas liquid gold. Marris hasn't got The Ned right yet but the vines are very young and he will get there. Hopefully in 2009.

Here ends your history lesson for the day.

...I wish you'd keep it your side of the dyke though.

When things began to go metric, one of the huge washing powder brands (Daz I think) put a large diagonal red stripe across the packets and in bright yellow lettering the slogan "look, new size same price". The truth, the whole truth etc. but it was smaller !!

Heavy gusts here in The Thames Valley, but no rain till Monday. A carpet of leaves and falling fruit all over the place in my back yard, my poor fig (which had been basking in an unusually nice dry and bright Med Autumn here) is taking a fierce battering.

Yeah, Goose You did talk about The Ned and Brent Marris for '09. The release would have been around end of July ? or was it kept back for the merchants to acquire ?
I did a search here, to track your Ned notes but all I found was wretched handbags
