You've done your homework:
Jean Paul Mollet Pouilly Fumé ‘L’Antique’ 2007 Loire, France
Aromatic grassy, herby nose with some melony richness. There are some pronounced green herbal notes here. The palate is concentrated and richly textured with a hint of fruit sweetness and green pepper/herby notes, as well as a touch of minerality on the finish. Quite a serious Sauvignon. 89/100 (Sainsburys, this is due to be offered at a promotional price in April) 03/09.

Although, as you know, I would have picked Jamie's other choice. Being a fellow geek who chews a 15 year old Vouvray that we've cellared and dusted off, since the Internet was launched ! I think I know how his taste buds are set.

Apart from blackcurrant leaf and nettles, specific tasting notes shouldn't be allowed as they just complicate things. Grass, herbs, green pepper and melons were totally absent. Although, the woman opposite did have a nice pair but that's not the point.

This was just classic Loire.....mineral and lovely and it's on sale now so Jamie knows nothing....typical journo.

Anyway, I reckon that GK is Hugh Fernley Whittingstall.

It'll be elderflower champagne and nettle beer next..

You've been warned.
