...Les Vergers

Duncan and I both acquired some of this on a majestic bin end back in Feb last year.

This is everything I look for in a white wine
Excellent balance of flavour, apple and citrus leads to smooth buttery and biscuity notes. Acidity makes your mouth yearn for more
This is excellent

Sorry my bad, where I had to try and squeeze the name in the subject I forgot to add the vintage to the main text

Vintage is 2007
Cost was £18.50 per bottle (normally ~£30-40 I think)

Shez has that right, the wine was nearer the £40 mark I believe.
Today the wine is £46 - £48 plus VAT, it's been going up in price recently.

It is a very lovely wine, and for that reason, the price will rise until the wine is deemed to be going over the hill. Minerality also, and beautiful balance, coupled with heavenly lightness in feel, and purity on the palate, make this wine a special pleasure - as Shez says, if sharing with friends, everyone is so sorry when the bottle is empty.....in a flash....before your eyes.
I knew what Fontaine Gagnard could do with chardonnay, having drunk one of their Chassagne 1er's on the 2000 vintage in 2008 (Les Caillerets) If my memory is up to speed this evening.
. So when it came up, I asked very nicely if the branch delivery van could make a detour to Kent ! The Manager who organised this for me had two bottles out of the van before I got there......... for his trouble.

I have one left, in my wine cooler. Ba, the wine goes into my gallery of those that one should try before you die.

Excellent quality - as Shez says, a great bargain.
