Opened one tonight and was not entirely impressed. Bit watery though not unpleasant. Shan't keep the other pair much longer methinks.

Nor me Ba, I opened last Thursday, served a glass at below room temp to see what - and saw not much ! Other than decent and balanced winemaking. From the fridge more spark, but not complexity of flavours, I'm affraid. A sleeper ?

Villa Maria Reserve Wairau '11 at similar money, knocks JE's effort at this stage in their evo. None of the eleven's have been tropically exotic, immediately following release.

I had a very well looked after VAV'09 the other week, a tad softer now on the other side, but the exotic flavours were a revelation re-visited !

Yes a sleeper. Bought one today at Waitrose for full money and it's back to where we all quite liked it. Should develop quickly now.

Funnily enough I had both back to back the other week and I too agree. While both were nice, the VM WR was more to my liking

For those of you interested, I saw JE 11 down to 9.99 at a large Morrisons store yesterday. They also have 25% off 6 bottles so you can pick these up for £7.50 at the moment...
I was in a rush so didn't get to buy any or check if they had any 2012 in the back of the shelf

VM WR 12 is so much nicer that I have abandoned the entire MSB 11 vintage. I still have some 11 JE left but will give them another year to see if the acid calms down and the flavour ( which is building nicely ) develops into something wonderful.

Best of luck with that, I'll be off-piste if it comes good.
My final one (yesterday) needed a lot of air and a bit of warmth to be at all drinkable.
VM rules OK?
