I bought a pair of Glorioso Reserva from Tesco last year. Not six, but 2 in a mixed case. So somewhere in the £7 a bottle region. Tesco wine prices for rioja versus the mixed Spanish offers, are all over the place these days !

The 2006 has the 4 stars from Decanter I believe. The 2007 is now £15 online, I wish I'd bought a box full of these 2006's when Spain was heavily discounted.
The nose and aroma that exudes from the glass is powerful enough for my wife to comment several times each evening when sitting across the room from me.
The oak is a lovely spicy affair, more so than the usual American oak, really notable spice, coupled with a silky texture. Fresher than the T. finest reserva, newer and nicer oak. Less oak by proportion though, and more fruit.
I'm prefering this rioja style to many I've had in this sub £10 zone.
Very good wine at the offer price. I'm impressed. This sub tenner gets 4 stars from me for a long and fruity finish.

I am unable to say whether the 07 will perform as well. Look on the shelf for the 2006 when the next instore offers are running. For £15, I don't think so ! However, on the dinner table for £12.99, and no complaints.

Ah yes, my palate is still working ..... thank all the gods.
Just looked up Glorioso Reserva.
The fruit is aged for 36 months, with a further 12 months in French oak barrels.

Dare I say it, and for me, I have to say it - For beauty & harmony, and fruit preservation, The French oak wins by a very significant margin.
