Tracked down the Cline Syrah 2005 from California for £6.29 with an extra 5% off for 6.

already cracked one open very good indeed, nice soft raspberry/cranberry fruit driven wine with a medium finish, not hot considering the 14% alcohol a nice balanced wine and drinking lovely over the last two nights.

A wine that keeps you interested and provokes your taste buds.

Good value for an everyday quaffer.

I picked up a bottle of this tonight for £7 bin end along with a couple of 2008 Nic Potel santenay blancs.
Will try giving it a go this weekend

I've seen you two in CT for quite a while - haha - you both know that. TNs on CT are quite reliable, you can tell though, when an owner's cellar is too hot in Summer. One guy says a claret is spent, then another says the same wine is about to peak !

One day, I just might upload my hoard. And.... then you see what a load of ole bull I'm keeping now

My days of 3rd & 4th tier growth clarets are well and truly over. The rest of the world saw to that, with their crazy bid prices. I believe in drinking the wine when it's ready......

Rich, I believe the 75 Beaumont could be spent - Unless it has been dug very deep underground '75 was a great vintage - but why leave all this time ? Were these your father's clarets.

** For lushness, I'd wager that the '03 Graves could be nice. A super rich vintage, a bit hot in the central area, a strong tannic structure for some more well known chateau in the Pessac L. appelation. Drink-up though.

The Guigal CdR could be ok....actually if cellar is cool. '98 Rhones had structure, some quite hard to begin with

Dunc its in the Fronsac.

I had around eight of the Beaumont 1975 last two gathering dust !!
Last one drank around 5 years ago before I loaded up my cellar on CT.

I won my bet you would pick the 03 Graves.

Fronsac - cheers for that. I really like juicy Fronsac, great value, but near to none in the UK- why ? 1995 Château La Longua, - 17 years laying down is a massive ask. La Vielle Cure, age for holding - 10 - 12 years, not much more. De la Rivierre, say 8 -9 -10 years depending on vintage.

How many dusty clarets do you have ? You need help
