For me, an expedition into the twighlight zone. IWC bronze, french oak and 14%. Just a tad over-balanced with the acidity, but better when warmer.
It's not purist chardonnay but better than a lot of the nonsense out there. Yeah, OK, fine, but won't be spending £10 on any more. Well worth a try though, even if just for comparisons.

At least it was a darn sight better than that Cowrie Bay chardonnay. Thinking about your Twilight zone, you paid normal retail for this ? Most unusual for you.

Ba, have you looked at the Ocado deals, you get most, if not all of the WR lower priced wines. At the mo, they have 25% off any three, albeit, within a limited range of about 120 wines or so. Delivery from Ocado is free if you wait for 4 days.

They might have something for you. I think this Wither Hills chard was £7.49 last month, I believe their PN is £9.49 at the moment. Above a certain price point (which I don't know), they quite often chip 50p off the instore prices, before applying the discount.
