Matthew Jukes asks “Is this the finest value Cabernet on the planet? I think so!".

Not at £7.99 but for a fiver he may have a point. Tried this some months ago and found it too astringent. However things seem to be improving, it's still very dry at first, with herby green flavours predominating but after being open a day it mellowed nicely.

Jukes does say to “decant this wine and use your biggest glasses” so if you can be bothered to faff about with what is after all supermarket plonk or probably better still keep it for another six months it’s certainly worth a

Bought 3 at double dip at Tesco. Rich wine with a dense purple colour. Blackcurrant and oak (?).

Massive wine for the money but how it compares to proper Cab I have no idea.

Any food recs ?

Bought so much of the stuff at the last Tesco double dip I'm sick of the sight (and taste of it). At present it's a spagbol/chilli go to - certainly not much can overwhelm it, any herby-spicy stew will do nicely.

Best to leave it alone until winter.
