Liked this one, bags of blackcurrant but not in a ribena way.

60% merlot / 40% syrah nicely blended, the varietals aren't obvious although after being opened a day the smoky syrah became apparent.

A fresh wine (but not overly lightweight) that would go well with the likes of gamey food such as pigeon breast.

Good winemaking, worth a try if you have any annoying pigeons.

Howzabout seagulls ? I could gleefully waste a few hundred of them.

Bought a couple of these ages ago and opened the first one last week. Seemed a sweaty and rustic French red to start with, but the sweat subsided to reveal a lovely blackcurrant flavour with a twist of plum. Lasted a full week and still good at the end. Great with strong cheddar and stilton. I look forward to the other one.
