...I thought i'd have another go especially as I used to like this due to it's strong blackcurrant and nettle flavours which, sadly, tended to vanish after a few sips but for a fiver there was nothing better out there.

Maybe Bob tastes a different version of the wine. Perhaps the UK bottling plant adds sugar. No idea. But if it's good it's good I care not for where it's bottled or how many vineyards supplied grapes. Very few MSB Estate wines are single vineyard and the SC Estate Reserve sold by the Co-Op is a cracker and that's bottled in Tribs garage.

Jamie had the bottle in front of him so I doubt it was a mistake.

I am assuming that this vintage is not the 'estate' wine. Probably some of a huge excess of unsaleable NZ SB that Majestic has had shipped to the UK.

Still, Goosegogs has the bottle so p'raps he can confirm who bottled the 2010

Bob in Australia wouldn't have tasted a wine bottled in the UK, so his note is about a different wine.

Southbank Estate 2010 is bottled in NZ.

It says so on the label. Where exactly did you see that it was bottled in the UK. You mention Jaime but didn't he say that SE wasn't some bottled in the UK wine

Btw....they sent Pioneer Block 19 ( Bird Block ) 2010, Vavasour 2010 and JE 2009 ( bugger ).

Vavasour '10 exhibits a mini sweet'sh ellement in the middle - bugger & bugger, I was V. annoyed to find that someone at my Maj had knobbled 2 of the 5 '09 bottles that I asked a member of staff to set-aside in a box out the back. And he did so last Monday.

Next time I ask ever so kindly for my name in felt tip to be plastered on the back label

The block 19 has the highest score of all the 2010 Saint Clair SB's reviewed by Bob C so far. It appears he has not tasted the Oh Block yet. That said, the tasting note suggests it might not be quite suited to your tastes, Goose.

I have deliberated ordering a couple of these also (lucky dip Pioneer block 2009 / 2010 ) and throwing in a couple of the VM WR 09. We shall see.

You will adore the VM WR 09. Do make sure it is the 09 though. The 2010 Block 19 sounds fine, just a little fuller than the 09 Oh Block. So long as the fullness comes from the flavour I don't mind.

Who do I complain to about the 09 JE.

My mistake. I just went to MW to check. Bottled in NZ -- now I am doubly puzzled why I didn't buy it.

Goose, I hope you try the block 19 soon, as my local MW has a case on order and I need to know how many to take

I have already picked up some VM WR 09 and Southbank 10.

Found one of these in the freezer ! Unscrewed it, shook it, and moved it into ambient conditions. Lovely, best bottle since hospital. AM really enjoying this. Zorrry Gosling.
