I have oft been sorely disappointed with seemingly half-decent French whites - what a bâtard say I.
Here is the pay back....expected little but got he whole nine yards, well, eight serpently.

Well done Aldi.

Bugger, I passed a big one today, (yes Aldi) and hadn't seen your post.

Damn. '09 is nice, and so is that price.

Second tonight. It is not a "quality" Maçon and it ain't £50 +. A fine example of cheapo's. For me, the best of the rest.

Tried this at the weekend.

I was not keen on the nose at first. Rotten apples that have started to ferment. Thankfully this subsides fairly quickly. The initial flavour is good but its a little short and thin. Not bad for the price and the initial stink apart perfectly fine. Its like a watered down version of Jadot's Macon's. I'd rather pay the extra for those though.

Thanks Tribs,

You've done me another favour, Saves me the bother in stopping by there.

I've ordered a couple of Chanson's Macon villages '09. I too prefer to spend the extra on cheap white burgundy - avoiding disappointment, and return hassles is worth a few sqidds.

I'm not knocking Ba's TN - no way - But I like my Macon blanc, Just So.

BTW - Sorry about the Gulf Station '08 PN - however you may find it OK, it isn't a crude and heavy and commercial NW pinot, just not, "Just So", for me.

The Gulf Station, Mrs T picked them up for me. "Make sure its the 08" I told her. She managed to find a few at the back behind all the 09's.

Will give it a try at some point. I have 2. Is it worth waiting at all?

I opened the Ttd Chilean PN made by Montes. Unfortunately as is the case with most Chilean PN, its too hot.

Strange, I would happily swap 6 Montes Alpha for 5 of these.

Not Macon - not thread related

Sorry Mr T, the '08 got the better TNs, I have to interpolate from adding-up all the pros & cons.

It is worth waiting. but for you to suss-it-out, please take one now, and then decide. I've put the other one on the back-burner. I was overly negative cos I'd read other TNs that turned out to be duff from my perspective.
