What on earth is this s'posed to be? Smells like a farmyard on the wrong day and tastes even worse. Couldn't finish the glass & don't have much hope that the new-found day 2 will manage to salvage a drinkable brew from this.

Think positive...you'll love it. I await your opinion.

I didn't mind the wine, but it was VERY asparagus flavoured.

Firefinch Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Western Cape
Tesco (08/11/10) £8.99
Very obvious tinned asparagus or tinned peas aroma. Inviting, actually. Quite a green taste. Lean and savoury. Strong tinned asparagus aftertaste.

Bacchus, dont let that Welsh git take you to the dark side, he's starting to manipulate your TN's, be true to yourself........

Mmmmmhhhh, asparagus, now we're talking, proper SB.

You've all been conditioned to look for homogenised NZ canal water, you've forgotten what the true characteristics of the grape are, that's if you ever knew to begin with.

It's Yosemite Sam to match the signature line. He's normal size on my screen. If its huge elsewhere somehow, I'll blast him.

Well, well, 24 hrs has worked it's magic yet again. This is very drinkable now but still on the "hot" side. Don't think that I will go here again, but if you like your SB heading towards port and are willing to open it a day in advance,,,then it is perfect.

Right then...I need a fridge that is 1 or 2 bottles wide and 6 feet long. A wee while ago I would have climbed out of bed on day 3 made coffee, and thrown this down the sink. This evening is day FOUR and it has changed yet again and is still non-vinegar. Very drinkable in fact, almost Chenin, reptilian. I am truly amazed (sorry, meant scrumptious)

Who confuses reptilian with scrumptious?

Finally got around to this. Mine is 2010 like Mel's.

I don't get any asparagus or anything vegetal, only some peapod on the aroma. Concentrated tropical fruit in the mouth, with decent zing. Well balanced tartness/sweetness.

I've not had much SA SB before. This wine is not a million miles from NZ. Perhaps a little less refined. I am very pleasantly surprised.
