I'm no expert when it comes to Gewurztraminer, but this is at least as good as the other example I had  . That was a Cono Sur version 4-5 years ago. I don't know why its taken me so long to revisit.

Rose and Lychees, incredibly aromatic, textbook Gewurzt as far as I can tell. Is it possible to not identify this in blind tasting? Totally unique grape and I think this is a good example. Mrs T likes this too.

BTW - MY friendly local majestic staff have warned me that it needs drinking in one sitting. Have nearly finished the bottle, but there is a little left, so I will confirm tomorrow.

Mine arrived last night but I have a filthy cold so will wait 'til I can smell anything.

Straight out of the frij, tasteless and a hint of frizz. Warmed into a wimpy watery floralish something. I remember calling the Cono "purple pretender" it was so ott as to be undrinkable.
I MUCH prefer Esmeralda to this, and if Alsace enters the arena this is an alcoholic jelly baby. Not 4 me.

I've no real experince of Alsace.

I did think it tasted a bit like Iron Bru after the aromas disappeared 24 hours later, as predicted by the maj staff.

I shall have the moral fortitude to re-direct myself (as they say).

I think I have a little buggy thing as last night I supped 2 different SBs that I know that I like and both were bland and flat. The previous evenings cava tasted like sparkling spring water, so...

Please ignore my post above and I shall await the second with an open mind.
