Decanter gold 2007.

Syrah - grenache - mourvedre

Light/medium bodied. Subtle dark fruits....nothing at all complex here. Elegant enough for the £4.99 offer price but gold ?

~G~ you echo what others have said about this Corbières on the Majestic site recently. For that, you've done some folks a favour.

However - before condemning the gold,......Try the left over wine tonight.

To qualify the Decanter award, one has to work out if this wine had a shorter drinking window.
Some of the bargain '07 southern Rhones seemed to be loosing a slice of their succullent appeal in December. Having said that, the M Chapoutier Cotes du Roussillon village '07 was still wonderful when I finished the last one after Christmas.

Hey ~G~ tasty enough for £4.99 Ok - has anyone here ever found corbières elegant
Corbiere is ....Well.... in MHO, improving significantly with producers like Hugh Ryman and James Herriot down there. There are 11 designated terroirs - which I didn't know, the last one designated, was pretty recent, was it 2005 ?

Tribs - said in June 07 - Also some Mont Milan Corbieres 07 for just over 3 euros a bottle in MW Calais. It might have been ok back then.

Mr G, you are guilty of not paying attention to the reds we have reviewed.

For you ....There are alternative ways of dumping a fiver, I spose, I never did think Mont Milan was your scene.....#$?/#~!¬

we gotta find you some half decent pinot noir with keen acidity - somehow ? Without doing a Bonnie & Clyde.

Identical on day two.

I am standing by elegant. Elegant with a very short finish. No savouryness.

So it's obviously not proper red wine.

G ~ Note to self - don't start any more red wine threads ~
