My word ! This is very sweet out of the blocks, the last time I had a sweety like this was from the deep south at Auxey Durresses in the hot 2003. Struth, I hope they didn't ** chaptalize for no good reason - You would'nt know this was from the northern half on the d'Or. Tastes deep south Beaune, quite soft, but just enough acidity !

However, Marks customers give this wine loads of stars, so who am I to argue.

The Pinot fruit is ripe, indeed how ripe, I cant really tell if ** Cherry and more cherry, some cocktail cherry bottled flavour. Needs time to get some C d'Or personality, possibly a bit oak light, time will tell.

A very rich, deep garnet and full bodied pinot noir, like a very good Chilean NW job ! At the very end of the 2nd Day, the wine begins to come around to the flavour I was expecting from an '09 made in France  Time will tell. The nose is quite heady but a bit confected just now, thank heavens not jammy.

I'm keeping for my cellar, as I know it will gain some forest floor in the end, I've aged '03 Auxey to good effect. Easy as a crowd pleaser, good for strong boxing day flavours at the table, could cope with sweet pickles ! Versatile, or as a lightly chilled cherry appero if you like.

Buy in the box of 6 to get the 25% disco.

The 25% offer is off now, back to 15%, and the wine is out of stock.

Mathew Dukes says this tastes like 2009 Nuits Saint Georges. Hmmn, I've not tried the '09 NSG grand vin. It certainly does NOT taste like '03 or '05 NSG 1er !

More like Corona cherryade at the mo - but there is hope, and I believe it !

This Nuits is coming good indeed well ahead of my expectations; maybe an exceptional bottle from that box - dunno ?
Could be me - a Cote d'Or PN nutter.
Have some sweet dung with your cherry - lovely farmyard' nose, builds beautifully in the glass, full and quite opulent today. Lovely with roquefort left over from Xmas, a sweeter PN and roque :)

'09 is such a good vintage. The farmyard dung is Yum

I'm going to give this a :qofgoodvalue: for QPR - because '09 is superb at the cheap end of d'Or, and you could spend a lot more, for little difference.

Don't be snotty - Waitrose were doing a roquefort offer at xmas - so there you have it !
This is M & S again, doing a proper job in selecting this burgundy for their customers, like wot the ladies say - About the M & S bras.
