Little aroma. Nicely acidic. Not bad, for pinot grigio.

Heavily reduced. This is a foul, foul wine.  Really, they cannot have tasted it before we arrived. 2nd bottle still reduced, but the flavour is slightly more pleasant. I’m pulling a face.

my first double yuk - quite memorably foul

Beautifully floral nose. Dry and lovely taste, with an echo of the floral aroma. Delicious.

This has a nice offer – buy two and get a free book. The book is Paul Merrett’s The Allotment Chef, which actually sounds good. Nice creamy sauvignon nose. Sweet, with tangy acidity and plenty of varietal character.

Creamy, oaky, nose. Typical of this grape, this price and the New World. Rich, with plenty of oak. Nicely balanced.

Ripe, sweet and creamy nose.  Really extraordinarily gorgeous nose. Sweet, ripe and delicious taste.  Great for dinner parties as it is so lovable. Delicious.

This seems light after the VM.  Tart and typical. Pleasant.

Zondernaam Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Light on the nose. This would work well with herbal starters but it a bit astringent for drinking alone.

Rustenberg SWB  2011

Not a great deal of aroma. The flavour of this is good. It’s persistent and pleasant but the alcohol is 14.5%  What are they thinking? It burns.

Washington Hills Pinot Grigio 2010

Very little aroma. Very sweet. Think Alsace, without the weight. Definitely medium dry.
