Mount Koinga Pinot Noir 2009
£17.50 13.5% The Wine Society
A fine flavoured and silky pinot from this single vineyard made by Paul Pujol of Prophet's Rock. This is succulent, rich and quite delicious. A Wine Society exclusive.

This is from Central Otago. Dark berry fruit and some vanilla on the nose. Sweet fruit, nicely savoury and with fabulously bright acidity. Lovely. Damn, just seen the price! It is delicious, but that’s pretty steep.

Freycinet Louis Pinot Noir 2008
£25.00 14% The Wine Society
A complex, earthy, plummy pinot which is full and dense, made by Claudio Radenti at this tiny estate on the east coast of Tasmania. Freycinet wines are rarely seen this side of the world, so buy it while you can.

Dark and concentrated nose. Massive wine. Not elegant at all.  Loads of oak, rich fruit and alcohol. Too much for me.
