Spolverino Toscano 2010, Carpineto £12.49 13% Screwcap 80% Sangiovese, 20% Canaiolo and other red varietals. Aged for 6 months in oak. Nicely oaky nose. Light on the palate. Rosso di Montalcino 2010, Il Poggione £18.74 14% Cork 100% Sangiovese. Matured for 12 months in large oak barrels. Inviting, oaky nose. Savoury and lovely taste. Great dinner party wine but it’s a bit pricey and the label’s not very interesting. |
