Post subject:  MAJESTIC DESSERT WINE - OCTOBER 2011

Castlenau de Suduiraut, Sauternes 2009 £11.99 Majestic
A bit reluctant on the nose. Beautiful taste. It hangs in your mouth with such opulent ripeness, but when you swallow the finish is clean. Lovely.

:qofgold:

(half bottle)

Noble One Botrytis Semillon, De Bortoli 2008 £19.99 Majestic
Amber-coloured. A nicely raisined nose. Very, very heavy. Almost syrupy. It's lovely, but cloying. (half bottle)

Rustenberg Straw Wine 2010 £12.49 Majestic
What an interesting premise. The smell is like lychees. It's intensely sweet, heavy, rolling around the mouth and does have the acidity to be moreish. (half bottle)
56% Viognier, 41% Chenin Blanc, 3% Crouchen (no, me neither)

Royal Tokaji Late Harvest 2009 £9.99 Majestic
Not to be confused with Tokaji. Same grapes, same area, different method of production. God, but it's beautiful. All sorts of fruit flavours. Mandarine, lychee, apricot and with mandarine acidity on the finish. (50cl)
75% Furmint 15% Yellow Muscat 10% Harslevelu
