M&S online £14.99

I tasted this before I looked at the price. It's surprisingly yellow for albarino. There's very little aroma - perhaps a little peardrop and some creaminess.

The taste has a nice peachiness, but also a nutty, almost oaky, taste, which I wouldn't expect from albarino. The flavour lasts very well, but it's almost like an aged wine. An awful lot of flavour and texture. I quite like it, but then I looked at the price, which is pushing it, to say the least. I'd buy this if it went down to a tenner, but wouldn't ever give it to students and expect them to realise it was albarino.

Belated Happy Easter to you.

I don't know why Mel tried a £!5 quid Albarino ? Intrigue ? Stranger things happen at sea though !

Lightly oxidised - Sounds like it - sorta pumping over the cap, as they do in Andalucia with the pedro X and other Competa white wines. Some of the wine treated in once used sherry barrels, that have been steam cleaned ?

Mel - does not say what the % ALC level was. Late picked v.ripe Alba - one could speculate all afternoon - and I can't be bothered to look it up.

Anyway - happy Easter hols to you guys.
