Post subject:  TESCO - NON-FRENCH OLD WORLD WHITES - JULY 2011

Tasted 05/07/11

Tesco Finest* Gavi DOC 2010, 8.29, Tesco
Sweet, pineapple, greengage - very fruity nose. Definitely on the way to off dry, with very bright and exciting acidity. A lively and easy wine. Good.

Tesco Finest* AlbariƱo 2010, 7.79, Tesco
Quite a saccharine nose. Tart and energetic acidity. Good, but the Ttd is better.

Tesco Finest* Steillage Riesling 2010, 6.79, Tesco
Very sweet, floral nose. Sweet, and seems a bit flaccid and almost bitter. I used to love this wine.

Tesco Finest* Denbies Estate English White 2010, 8.79, Tesco
Not particularly fresh and lively on the nose. Tastes good, though. Bright, sauvignon-like flavours. Assume it's bacchus-based. In fact, it's predominantly ortega and reichenssteiner and only 3% bacchus. Quite likeable taste.
