This is on offer at ?4.99, and although I had never seen it at any other price, I thought it was worth trying, because I have enjoyed wines from this brand in Spain.
There was a red fruits smell, however it was woody, fruitless garbage in the mouth. The bottle was not obviously corked, however the cork was little stained by the wine, which may indicate improper storage. Don't buy.

Thanks Tim, this is not the first time I have been warned off this wine, nearly bought it myself a week ago!

Have you tried the Isla Negra High Tide Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Chile, ?8.99 reduced to ?4.49
also at Morrisons? Made by Adolfo Hurtado of Cono Sur, very nice at this price I found, it went a treat with some local speciality sausages over the weekend.

Thanks I will check it out.
There is a developing tendency to dump sub-standard wine by putting a ' Reserve' label onto an established brand along with a pretend discount. The Co-op did it last winter with a Lehmann Wildcard 'Reserve' Shiraz which was nowhere near the quality of the standard Wildcard Shiraz. Perhaps we should ask Mel to add a Warnings section to the site?

It's on its way. If we get some free time over the holiday period, I'm instigating two new icons. Along with the red star for delicious wine, there will be a Good Value star and a very expressive little screwed up faced Emoticon, which says Yuk! for the real monsters.
