I bought mine from Mentzendorff. I dont know the retail price. Bila Haut '09. If you are a Rhone lover, and you have a budget to consider, you can't go wrong with this one from a Chapoutier outpost. Cork stopper, very dark garnet, Alc on the nose, but not a problem in the mouth. Now, as it is an 09, with a potential for holding good and maturing over 5 years, you should let this wine open to get the "transition" (see chinese guy doing a video TN below with chinese beef and vegetable main course) He does go on a bit, so cut after 30 seconds wine lovers do ramble on...... I glugged mine with roast chicken, the Oakham one in the bag, from Marks in the spicy barbequeue sauce. Very nice because the wine has enough peppery flavour and broad tannic stucture to cut across the oil, sauce and gravy of a juicy chicken with roasted vegetable. I am biased, yet Spectator and Advocate are giving this wine an 87 - 89, and for around 7 to 8 Euro. you can't odds it - Can you ? For me this '09 is all about bramble (wild blackberries and very ripe black elderberries, some oak vanillin, and then a twist of liquorice root with a bit of CdR hot stones, knarled bush garrique. I like it - being so young, please give it time to open. 24 hours later, the wine is a touch fuller and a tad sweeter. http://wineactually.com/product_info.ph ... 08b91ad757 |
