The 2009 was on offer at Tesco's and, having tried a bottle, decided to have 12. However, they delivered only 6 of the 2009 and six of the 2010. I arranged to have them returned. However, at the reduced price I thought they were worth a taste, even so young. Very pleasantly surprised. November 5th sparklers then you begin to expect peaches but it takes a sudden turn to banoffy, fading to ripe gooseberry. I suspect it will benefit from 6 months in the garage.

Which grape variety is this, bankie?

Good Q, both the Cha & SB are £4.74 [??] but if it "sparkles" I'm going for the SB.

Have bought many of these over the ages since the Arizona meteor hit, and have rarely been disappointed. Nothing great or exotic, just good ordinary Eau de Booze at a decent price.

Le vin blanc pétillant.

Ba, do Casillero del Diablo make a sparkling SB ?

I thought only the Limari Reserva was dated with a vintage, all others are NV, but Limari is chardonnay, and the 2010 would not be ready yet anyway, dosing the bottles with yeast and fruitose / sucrose solution takes a bit of time and organisation.

Therefore:-

I suspect that this is the 2010 SB still wine, that is so young that the wine has a pétillant feel in the mouth and effect when first pouring. Sparklers for the kids on Guy Faukes fits.

Please let us know Mr Bankie.

edit;- Petillant would be masculine, have removed the e

They do do a sparkling Chardonnay Brut, but I have yet to see it.

Now then,on my first attempt at offering a tasting opinion I have covered myself in something, and I don't think that the word is "glory"!

Apology 1 - Sorry for the delay in responding, I was out on a Band "DO" last night.
Apology 2 - For my lack of information and clarity.
The wine is the SB and, I agree with Duncan (what a good Scottish name)! it is the result of the wine being so young, but it is still a pleasing sensation. However, my real intention was not to emphasize the sparkle. I could not think of communicating the taste sensation except that of the slightly smokey taste you get when waving a sparkler about. I wish I hadn't started this!!
It is very pleasing to be called "Mr" bankie, but plain bankie will do. I use it because I was born in Clydebank, Glasgow and we are known as "Bankies" A term used by some with curled lip, but not we bankies!
So, I hope, with your help, to improve my wine communication skills and reduce your frustrations

Tis my fault. I started calling Duncan Mr D because he sounds posh, lives in Berkshire and is 73erd in line to the throne ( sandwiched between a corgi named Cuthbert and a one legged raven from the Tower ).

As for the Casillero is it the Valle Central or the Casablanca. The Cas is the nicer wine but they are both fairly mundane examples of Chilean sb.

Casablanca. Been a bad w/e all round. Wolves in the MR2, and Bristol City out of the bottom 3. If the Banker is a rugby man he'll be super-chuffed.

Mr D super chuffed - We played like the All Blacks :D A bottom 2/3rds of the Sceptre man.

If the Banker is a rugby man he'll be super-chuffed.

Clydesdale supporters, not so 'appy last week-end. Aha, their form has be converted by some quality kicking today.

Edited for highlights this evening.
