Original TN from Mel "Rio Bío Bío Sauvignon Blanc Pinot Gris 2009 Catty nose, but also tropical and something appealing, like basil. Very interesting aroma. Obviously Sauvignon in the mouth, but with some weight from the Pinot Gris. I like it. Tesco (08/11/10) £6.99)" Bacchus: Looks like there's some Gew in there as well. Could a/c for the aromas |

I'm drinking this Rio del Bio Bio SB / PG tonight. Aromas are interesting. Was searching for the basil that Mel mentioned and it could be there. A sweet herbal note. Its fairly sweet. Nice ripe flavours with a touch of lime and a little pith. Not particularly elegant or exciting, but to be fair it has followed the last of the SC Block 3 which is both. Charming, cheerful, a real quaffer. The bottles almost gone. |

Well now, this was a fiver in one local branch. Was in the car boot from 18.45 'til 23.00, outside temps being 5/6c. First glass not at all impressive, bit like cheap sem/sauv. An hour in the frij has made a differenxe. Still not nuch on the nose, but I'm getting a little pizza in the glass. Complexity is emerging in several layers. Yep Ok but as with some others needs to be COLD. £5, 5°,5 glasses...fine |

You can buy worse for a fiver then Ba ? Benign nose - disappointing ! Mel said it had a nice aroma, not PG Tips, obviously. Surprised you get much of anything at all at 5 degrees C. Praps more cut to the palate and stark freshness I spose. Mind you Ba, if you'd let it open out - You'd probably get a can of worms ! I'm totally in accord with Goose on this:- Always test a nouveau vin blanc at 'Home' cellar temperature to sort out the real women from the teeny bopper pop. |

Cellar temp is dropping through 14/15 °. Just can't contemplate tasting this at those temps. |

Ba, Store temp here is running at 10C on the bottom levels at floor level moving to 11C at the top at 2:00 pm today. Bottle temperature probably 8 or 9C, since cold nights will bring it all down a tad. Temp gently ebbs and floods. Endorsing Goose was in the above scenario - not 14/15C, which is Un . Mr tribs has the commodious programmable chiller though, nice kit. BTW, Ba are you our War Correspondent back from a CNN assignment ? Or did you come off the bike I heard that John Cleese is recovering from an Op, I for one, wish 'im a speedy recovery, |

As it 'appens, I was returning today from Bulwark (Welsh Gloucester) and stationary at the head of 1 of 2 lanes on the complex at Avonmouth. A car decided to create a 3rd. lane and in so doing, slowly ran over my outstretched foot. |
