Winemaker and winery: David Guimaraens, Quinta da Roeda. Grape variety: Malvasia Fina, Viozinho, Esgana Cão, Rabigato, Gouveio. Region: Douro Valley, Portugal. Viticulture/Vinification: A blend of indigenous white port grapes grown in the terraced vineyards surrounding the village of Pinhão. An ancient seabed is a unique feature of the region, with layers of schist in the hillsides. Availability: 147 stores. 19% vol. Definitely sweet, but doesn’t seem as sweet as the pink. The alcohol burns but I could do this with tonic. 23/03/10 |
