Winemaker and winery: David Guimaraens, Quinta da Roeda. Grape variety: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Amarela. Region: Douro Valley, Portugal. Viticulture/Vinification: A short pre-fermentation maceration gives a pale colour and avoids the extraction of astringent tannins. Cold settling prior to a cool fermentation in stainless steel is enhancing the freshness and elegance of the fruit. Availability: 368 stores. 19% vol. Nice packaging in a slim 50cl bottle. Quite a spicy nose – like baking spices. Sweet, cherry flavours, with alcohol burn, as expected. Refreshing and quite lovely. 23/03/10 |
