Winemaker and winery: Telmo Rodriguez. Grape variety: 90% Tempranillo and 10 % Garnacha. Region: Rioja Alavesa. Viticulture/Vinification: The 35-50 year old bush vines are situated in the eastern and highest part of Rioja Alavesa on clay and calcareous soils. The wine is aged for twelve months in French oak barrels and foudres. Availability: Now – 150 stores. 14% vol. Very appealing oak on the nose, but the alcohol she burns the nostrils. Similarly the actual flavours are delicious, but there’s a burn. 23/03/10 |
