Winemaker and winery: Jean-Francois Gadeau, Lorrein S.L. Grape variety: 100% Tempranillo. Region: Rioja Alavesa. Viticulture/Vinification: Traditional viticultural methods followed by classic alcoholic and malolactic fermentation with ageing for 3-4 months in French oak barrels. Availability: May - 600 stores. 13% vol. Pale cherry red Rioja. No oak on the nose, just juicy red fruit. Lovely taste. Juicy and refreshing. Served a little chilled – I think intentionally – which would be excellent for a picnic. The daffs are only just starting to come out and already I’m making plans. 23/03/10 |
