Winemaker and winery: Cédric Jenin, Castel Frères. Grape variety: 50% Merlot & 50% blend cépages méditerranéens (Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan ). Region: Languedoc. Viticulture/Vinification: Traditional for 25% of Merlot varietals and for the rest of the blend (25% Merlot + 50% Mediterranean blend) it is a thermo-vinification: Alcoholic fermentation in liquid phase with low temperature. No ageing process. Availability: April - 475 stores. 12.5% vol. Very dark, moody nose. Spicy taste, but lacking acidity for me. The aftertaste is black. 23/03/10 |
