Winemaker and winery: Hervé & Diane Joyaux Fabre, Domaine Vistalba. Grape variety: 100% Malbec. Region: Mendoza. Viticulture/Vinification: Vines are grown at altitude of 1200m. Grapes are hand harvested and carefully sorted by hand. Cold maceration occurs before fermentation, which takes place at a controlled temperature of 25°C. Wine is pumped over three times a day. Post fermentation, the maceration occurs for 10 days. This wine is treated minimally with only filtration. The wine has not spent any time in oak. Availability: 338 stores. 14% vol. Dark, juicy nose. Darkly fruity and with high alcohol. Spicy, dark coffee finish. Not my thing. 23/03/10 |
