Winemaker and winery: Luciano Piona, Cavalchina.
Grape Varieties: 82% Rondinella & 18% Pinot Grigio.
Region: A single estate in the Mantova region of Lombardy, near Lake Garda.
Viticulture/Vinification: After pressing, the grapes are left to cool at 8ºC and left overnight for maceration. After fining, fermentation takes place for 15 days at 17ºC. The wine remains in contact with the lees for a further 90 days.
Availability: Now – 600 stores.

Almost no smell. Tastes like a very dry white wine, and it’s rather nice. A hint of fruit on the finish. Good.

They had an in store tasting. Bone dry, subtle strawberry, Chinon like chalk and a touch of bitter almond from the pinot gruesome.

Shame about the almond.

Not worth the dosh.

I fancy the Leyda Pinot rose for 10 bob more
