Winemaker and winery: Benoit Brochard Domaine Hubert Brochard. Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Region: Sancerre, Loire Valley. Viticulture/Vinification: Grapes are sourced from 35-year-old vines, which were planted on 100% flinty soils within the Chavignol region. Soft pressing in pneumatic wine press. Slow fermentation in low temperature in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. This wine is unoaked. Availability: 304 stores. 12.5% vol. Rock shaped label, with photos of rock. That’ll be the terroir. Very light nose. Some perfume, some lemon. Intense flavour. Very savoury, with only the cleanest, most lemony fruit. Sharp and invigorating. 23/03/10 |
