Biscuity and appealing nose. Very full flavour. Quite chewy and textured. Just the merest hint of ripeness.

Mel, I've piggy backed on your post, because of similarity in style.

LES FOLIES DE LA MARQUETTERIE - a pale burnt orange label

Before the Crunch my youngest daughter bought one of these back for Christmas - a Business gift from an appreciative client.

I was mightily treated by it.

The same style as above, 55% Chard 45% Pinot Noir. Very full flavour, nicely textured, and lovely mouth feel (despite prickle), as you say Mel, and the wine would have been great with a very fancy starter. I'd have said for this - A good deal of ripeness, compared to many of the popular names, and judging from the '03 vintage, I would have guessed it was.

If you can afford these - YES, Yes, yes

Clearly the list of Taittingers tasted last Friday (and whites and reds) was chez Majestic and not chez moi.

Kind'of guessed you were lord and lady'ing it in St Johns Wood... Ha ! With a duffle coat on !

Nostalgia - Dunc stop it

The lovely Dutch Sara, great raport with her, she has flown to BBR Basinstoke. She used to bring back some dusty bin ends from St Johns in the van, she was truely a star at my local.

Hence - Blain Gagnard Chassagne 1er 2000 in my faves for 2009........ and the Lachaux Gevrey 1er 1999. Sorely missed. Maj is bigger business now, those goodies don't come our way anymore.
