If there are two things that I never eat it's seafood and curry. This would go well with either. I was introduced to it by members of this forum, but failed miserably to read the back label. Advisory drinking temp is a whole 12c and at 5c it was bland. Much better at correct temp, light, several flavours and tasty, seems almost to change in the glass with handling! The best my simple palate could manage was still champers. Almost a bit sweet, almost a dry after-taste, heading for riesling peut-etre.

Seriously, no seafood or curry. Are you a fussy eater? I always thought that most wine-lovers were foodies. Is that another generalisation to be squashed.

Damn

'Fraid so, and to fan the flames, curry starts at vinegar, mustard and mayo. I even cross the road if I'm passing an Indian.

What on earth do you mean? You don't eat mustard, mayo or vinegar.

Was so comfortable with my generalisations.

The only thing that I consume which has come from the sea (or indeed river) is salt. It all smells horrid and a lot of it looks disgusting as well.
I did eat a small halibut steak starter once as it was a posh business do and there was this certain young lady sat next to me...but I did eat about 4 rolls with it and a gallon of water.

  If I had read this thread as your first post I would have put you down as being about 14yrs old (and wondering what you were doing on a wine forum  )

Your full name isn't Bacchus Theodopolopathedis by any chance is it?: carnivors

One has to grow old, but one can, with care & hard work, avoid maturity.

Yep Mel, I'm a bit weird. I do love food and cook quite a bit, but as you say (just like dear old mum) that I am fussy. To complete the picture, I ate no cheese until 20 yrs old, no spaghetti until 16 and no rice until 20. I cut ALL fat off meat and have ALL meat cooked right through. I eat no offal, and only hard cheese that is one yellow/orange throughout. Nothing slimy or gelatinous either. Had awful trouble in France...

Maybe genetic, maybe being dropped on my head. More likely being brought up during the end of rationing in an almost-dry household. The terrible booze appeared twice a year. A elliptical bottle of Tarragona, one of egg nog, and one of brit cream sherry each Xmas. A glass or two of babycham and packet of crisps (luxury) last evening of caravan hols. Ho hum...What's not to like just 'cos I don't eat a few things???
