Post subject:  Hunter Valley Chardonnay 2008 £7.99

Winemaker and winery: Andrew Spinaze, Tyrrells Wines.

Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay.

Region: Hunter Valley, New South Wales.

Viticulture/Vinification: Grown on deep, sandy, alluvial soils. The grapes were whole bunch pressed using an air-bag press. The wine remained on its lees for up to four months before blending. The wine was then aged for six months in French barrels.

– 200 stores.

This has the same waxy aroma as HV Semillon, which Tesco Finest Denman also has. Good. Not sweet at all with quite drying mouthfeel. Aperitif wine and perhaps for Clare Valley Riesling lovers. Plenty of texture and freshness.
