80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Owned by Comtes von Neipperg. Soil is clay-limestone and vines are an average 28 years old. Grapes are hand-picked and passed across vibrating tables for double sorting before and after de-stemming. No crushing, and conveyed by gravity. Fermented in temperature-controlled oak and stainless steel vats for 18-26 days. Extraction by punching down the cap of skins. Matured in French oak barrels, of which up to 80% are new each year. On lees for approx. 18 months. No fining or filtering.

Sweet, ripe, cherry fruit on the nose and in the mouth. Not obviously a Bordeaux style. Spice from the Merlot but more liquorice on the finish.
Alc 14%, TA 3.65g/l, pH 3.33, RS 1.5g/l.
Available from Wine Direct and 163 branches.
