Bodegas Hidalgo - La Gitana S.A. is one of the Sherry district's oldest Sherry and it is one of just a few wineries of the Sherry district that is totally independent and entirely family controlled, guided by the sixth generation. Because of the family continuity and in honour of the family name, the quality has always been the most important factor in the company. We use the grapes from our own vineyards in Balbaina and Miraflores, which are areas of the Jerez Superior District. Furthermore we continue to use traditional methods for the crafting of our wines in butts of American oak, some of which predate the firm itself.
Salt and caramel on the nose - a great combination. Bone dry and yet with the merest hint of brown sugar. Salty, savoury and fab.
