Grape varieties: Tempranillo 55% Graciano 15% Garnacha 15% Mazuelo 7%
Vegetarian.
<2 grams/litre residual sugar.

The grapes are selected from 60 year old vines on a 20Ha estate in the town of Elvillar de Arnedo and is - uniquely - made using all 7 indigenous grapes from Rioja. 4 separate vinifications took place in stainless steel. No fining, filtering or artificial stabilisation is subjected to the wine, this may result in the appearance of natural sediment. The 4 wines were aged in oak barrels for 3 years, Garnacha in American oak, the rest in French. The final blend was aged in a french oak foudre for an extra year and a half.

Currently the IWSC Spanish wine producer of the year, the Baron de Ley winery was founded in 1985 by a small group of Rioja wine professionals, who started a project to showcase the innovative and unique characteristics of this prestigious DOCa. The original Baron de Ley project was based on the idea of developing a purely vineyard driven winery, oriented to the production of high quality wines. The other main guideline behind the project was to develop and implement a new style of modern Rioja wines. With this objective in mind, the winery has specialised in Reserva wines since it was established.

Loads of heady oak and dark, ripe fruit. Fabulously, sexily appealing. Blimey it's delicious. Savoury, oaky, leathery and yet fresh and refreshing. Lasts very well.
