Grapes are hand picked to ensure only the very best are used. Grapes are picked mid September when they are perfectly matured.
Vinification takes place in tanks under temperature control for about 2 weeks.

The wine villages of Alsace lie in a narrow band 140kms long at the foot of the Vosges Mountains in eastern France. Lower than average rainfall and long, dry, warm autumns enable Alsace to produce great wines. The Baron de Schielé, wine grower & broker, founded Vins d'Alsace Kuehn in 1675; some of the original cellars from this time are still in use today. Partially destroyed during WWII, the upper part of the winery was rebuilt by Rene Kuehn, then mayor of Ammeschwihr, and this building still houses the winery today.

Not much smell, perhaps some sweetness. Hot, sweet and not my sort of thing at all.
