This cuvee is produced from mainly purchased grapes. We work in partnership with producers who share our philosophy of viticulture : low yields, optimal maturity and sustainable viticulture. The parcels are monitored throughout the growing season by our oenologist and the dates for the harvest are set jointly with the growers.
The harvest was not de-stemmed. Both barrel and tank fermentation at
controlled temperatures 50% in stainless steel tanks, 50% in either one or multiple wine barrels. The wine was aged on its lees and stirred for 10 months. A light filtration was carried out before bottling.

This wine is the result of a partnership between three of the Rhône valley's modern young turks, Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard and François Villard. Along with their winemaker Pierre-Jean Villa they have selected the best cuvées from the best growers across the Rhône valley and raised them in their cellars in Vienne. Condrieu used to be famous for its harbour on the Rhône river. Founded in 59 BC by a Roman chief, its name means “dwelling on the water”. A boatbuilding capital until the late 19th Century, its sailors played a major part in establishing the wines of “Côte Chery”.

A hint of vanilla on the nose. Intensity of acidity and youth. Appealing but its £20 and I don’t want to spend that on something that's only pretty good. A curiosity for me, and no more.
