Post subject:  Tesco Finest Howcroft Estate Cabernet/Merlot 05 £7.99

Made for Tesco by Australian Vintage Ltd, from 76.5% Cabernet Sauvignon 21.5% Merlot. 6.9 grams/litre residual sugar. The Cabernet Sauvignon was matured in Hogshead barrels for 9 month. The components were then blended and stabilised prior to bottling. The Howcroft Estate vineyard is located near Bordertown in the lower South East of South Australia. The area is well known for producing full flavoured wines due to its outstanding viticultural climate. It is the limestone bedrock that is responsible for many of the region's unique features including the honeycomb system of caves, some layered with fossils of Australia's Mega Fauna, the rich terra-rossa soil and the finely filtered aquifers which surface at Mount Gambier's mysterious Blue Lake.
Very minty, eucalyptus nose. Inviting and interesting. Mouth watering acidity. Fresh, fruity and minty. Very good of its type and quite GV. 13.5%
