I've managed to find a small amount of this for our ruby wedding anniversary. It is a rare find, and the 2004 vintage is rated an 8/9 following the drought in 2003.

It is a chardonnay / Pinot noir mix and should appeal to a few select guests, with differing palates

Team - If you have any better ideas, please let me know ASAP.

I'll delete the Wedding Anni note after I've secured it

Thanks

I've had this on a couple of occasions and have really enjoyed it. Its a NV Perrier wine, very well made. If you combine the current offer with another case you can get this for £13.50 a bottle. How does that compare with the Mosaique?

Congrats by the way, enjoy your special day.

Thanks GK - Cheers, let's hope there's a long finish

Oudinot make a very nice demi sec style that I am maturing. A good reccy as well.

My dear Misses wanted the Jacquart NV, which is similar money to the LC at Marks which is also rated at the affordable end of the market. Maj weres old out, so I had to pull a few strings and a few phone calls to other stores to acquire the vintage cuvee. Decanter gave the Mosaique '04 vintage 17 points and at the old price plus a note of interesting herbaciousness (spelling), I thought yeah, Ok, let's roll with this. If we dont consume it all there will be a bottle or two good till 2018 "Decanter" said !! A big ask.....

Duncan,

Fully agree with your Jacquart choice, of which I have good memories from France.
But, did you know that Tesco's is now flogging Vintage Chanoine (Brut 2006, not fully ripe yet) for about £18?
It may not stand up to the Jacquart in the comparison, but perhaps good for laying down.
I have a few Chanoine vintage 2002s laying down. At the Jubilee event it was not as lively and tasty as I had expected.
But, you may judge otherwise.

Don't worry, I wouldn't dare try and contribute to a Champagne thread. All I know is that at Tesco one bottle of Krug costs as much as 120 cans of Stella.

Just popping in to wish Mr & Mrs Dunc a very happy day.

Brilliant choice Ba - brilliant - Ruby Sunday for us Ha ha.

We got married on a Satuday. My maths, so 7x7 =49 less 9 leap years = 40, so you'd think the 15th was going to be a Saturday ....

Thanks for the best wishes from all good folks. Nose for fun - glad you approve of the Mosaique '04. I found 7 bottles but someone knabbed one on the way to us ! Hmmmn. Good choice then- Huh.

It's not raining ! - the Gods are being nice. Ta very muchly. The gazebo is now up on a very soggy lawn.

Mr Goose, I have bought more VM wairau valley reserve '11 MSB, for when the shampoo dries-up, so that gets your blessing - Yeah. Well, if you were all close by you'd be sampling the Mosaique '04 - I'm sure

Cheers for now
