The purpose of this post is not so much to recommend this wine because it is far too sweet and sickly to be recommended to anyone other than a three year old who likes strawberry bons bons with sherbet on top but to congratulate this wine for being honest about it's sweet sickliness. Jacob's Creek Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay Rose is one of many sub £10 examples of wines that pretend to be dry and sophisticated but are in fact sweet, girly pointless pap. If this wine could speak it would say " I am sweet and sickly and you....can go fluff yourself " For it's honest charm it gets a Please don't actually drink this. |

When I'm marking MW papers about this type of wine it's important for the students to know not to be snobby about it. Yes, I would never, ever want to drink it, but it sells extraordinarily massive volumes, isn't faulty and is reliably pleasant. Probably quite good with a strawberry pavlova, in place of moscato d'asti, for example. It tastes of strawberry yoghurt. |
