Ok, so the "Truely Irrrsistible" branding that Co-op have adopted is possibly the worst of all the supermarkets higher level own labels, thankfully this wine is not
I didn't take any formal notes but it was a very enjoyable white wine, with good fruitiness and freshness
This normally retails for £8.49 but can be found currently on offer for a fiver
Be interested to see what the rest of you think (should float Bacchus' boat particularly).
Anyone for a QO group tasting/review online? Perhaps we could even make it a monthly thing ?

Cheers Shez,

I can't remember when I last tried a Godello wine, so for a fiver an economical re-visit and reminder. Galicia, so may be chilled when on holiday in Spain and enjoying a plate of calamari. Hmmmn, quite a while back.

David Williams, wines of the week, 14th May 2014.
The Co-operative Truly Irresistible Godello, Monterrei, Spain 2013 (£8.49, down to £6.49 until 3 June) To be fair to the wine-buyers I chatted to as I made my way through the Co-operative's line-up, they seemed a little embarrassed to be saddled with the "Truly Irresistible" branding, which was foisted on them when they introduced a new range of smarter (the retail jargon would be "more premium") wines last year. They, and their colleagues elsewhere, would no doubt prefer something a little less grandstanding, a little less of a hostage to fortune. Still, they are rightly proud of the quality of this Galican white: a brisk, lemon-tangy and subtly salty partner for seafood.

Chaps bought a bottle this morning.
Roads are clear !! no kids and Mums/Dads driving so popped into a co-op.

Are we arranging a tasting this or next weekend ?? Happy to hold mine for a few weeks.

I've got a couple sitting at home so happy to give it a go any time
Would recommend the 2013 vintage rather than 2012 if possible but don't imagine there would be too much vintage variance. I have bottles of each vintage to try
