Found this in Lidl, reduced from £14.99 to £5.99

Currently quite juvenile with very deep, ripe fruit. Very rich and brooding. The oak has a slight vanilla note to it

Mrs S tried this and her immediate comment was "oh this is nice" which isn't something she says in abundance, especially with bordeaux
She wouldn't like this as much as I would when it dries out a bit and the fruit dies down and the cedar/ tobacco note show

While it hasn't had a lot of breathing I think it should still do well in the medium to long term.

Sounds good and pretty versatile, a Saint Estephe on the '09 and a CB, under the new CB qualifying conditions. A great bargain. Supper party wine at five ninety nine. Who could ask for more ?

None in my store :(

Enjoy.

Another brilliant find from Shezza, this wine is E18.99 euro in German stores

I was fortunate enough to try this wine on Monday 23rd February.

I loved the richness of this 2009 St Estephe. For '09 cru bourgeois clarets, the northern left bank wines are very approachable and with plenty of character.
Charming ripe cab dominated claret, very dark blackberry and plenty of spice once the fruit has opened in the glass. Keen acidity, that maintains freshness. I'd say a medium keeper, because we don't want to lose that lovely fruit, which is not over ripe. There is some sediment in this wine, which is good sign, and indicates that the wine has not been over filtered. I almost forgot to mention 13.5 alc, so it is spot on, given the ripeness.
Very easy, yet most satisfying.

Unfortunately this one is long gone buddy

All is not lost tho as you got very lucky with the Tronquoy Lanande 2007. The 2009 is on sale for £30 at Tesco and M&S so £9.99 was a steal

I thought you took the last of the bottles in store anyway?
There'll be more deals in future..... And you got some of the Mule too. (M&S offer ends on Monday btw)
